Sabrina's Hope Garden

April 21, 2005 marked the third anniversary of Sabrina's abduction. We held a prayer service in Sabrina's Hope Garden to remember the date.

Sabrina's Hope Garden was dedicated in 2003, at the one year anniversary of Sabrina's abduction. It was planted on the property at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church, where Sabrina attended from age 2 until her abduction.

This garden was designed to attract butterflies, repel deer, and survive in the direct Texas sun. In the middle of the garden is a bench where you can sit and ponder. The church and the garden are on the edge of a large hill, and from your seat you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Texas Hill Country.

In the spring, many of the flowers are blooming. I wanted to share some photos of the garden, taken in 2005.

The garden was designed by Kelley Bonnel for her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. She is a former student at the church's Child Development Center.

Some friends made cutout drawings for Sabrina and put them in her garden.
